Decoy

Catches spam bots with a decoy channel — anyone who types in it gets punished automatically.

Decoy sets a trap for spam bots. You create a channel that real members have no reason to talk in — Vaneta pins a warning panel in it explaining exactly that — and anyone who sends a message there anyway gets punished automatically. Spam bots blast every channel they can see, so they walk straight into it.

Configuration

• Decoy Channel — the trap channel. Vaneta pins a warning panel in it so honest members know not to type there.
• Log Channel — where Vaneta sends a detailed catch report every time the trap is triggered, including an unpunish button in case a real member wandered in.
• Punishment — what happens to whoever triggers the trap.

Tips

• Name the channel something enticing to bots, like #general-chat, and place it near the top of your channel list.
• Deny the channel’s send permissions for your trusted roles if you want to make accidents impossible.
